FX's Beef and Love Story, both based on true events, are also strong contenders, along with HBO's DTF St. Louis. And let's not forget Richard Gadd, who dominated the limited series categories in 2024 with Baby Reindeer and could repeat the feat with HBO's Half Man.
The final seasons of Hacks and The Comeback are also expected to make a significant impact, especially with the talented Jean Smart and Lisa Kudrow in the running for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. And while The Bear's Season 4 wasn't its strongest, the series could still make a comeback, particularly in the acting categories.
As for the Best Drama category, the Emmys' love for Game of Thrones might extend to its spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a low-key but enjoyable watch. Past nominees like The Diplomat, Paradise, Slow Horses, and The Gilded Age are also strong contenders, and who knows, maybe even Stranger Things will get a second chance with Academy voters who didn't have to sacrifice their New Year's Eve for the series finale.
