The wolf's journey into Nevada began on Monday morning, taking it to the rugged terrain north of Lake Tahoe, nestled between the prominent peaks of Mount Rose and Mount Houghton. While no direct sightings were reported by the public, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was able to track the animal's movements thanks to its GPS collar, confirming its presence in the Silver State.

According to Zeme, the wolves observed in Nevada are typically "dispersing individuals" from neighboring states. However, Zeme explained that the growing wolf populations in neighboring states like Idaho, Oregon, and California significantly increase the chances of wolves occasionally crossing state lines into Nevada.
